Valorant Developer teases Oni 2.0 in works

June 2024 · 2 minute read

Changes in Valorant are coming in hard and fast, with the release of Episode 5 Act 3, dropping the new agent Harbor and a few other changes. Valorant had also recently dropped the trailer as well as the Ion 2.0 collection. Gun skins have always been one of the most successful commercial aspects from Riot, with several skin bundles becoming fan favorites over time. Calling it The New Era, Valorant brought back its hyper-successful Ion skin bundle, albeit with a few changes, on popular demand by fans. Along with it, Valorant is planning for a Give Back Bundle to bring back the community’s favorite skins.

Valorant had begun bringing out newer variants of old skin bundles early this year, with the RGX skin bundle being presented and later on the Reaver 2.0 collection being brought out. While both the RGX 2.0 and Reaver 2.0 boasted of the Phantom, the Ion 2.0 features the Vandal instead, along with a karambit that is increasingly becoming the fans’ and streamers’ go-to skin. In the pistol range, the Ion 2.0 features a frenzy, and this time around, the Operator has been replaced with the Ares. However, the real crux of the matter is that Oni 2.0 might be coming back, and fans are extremely hyped up about it.

Oni 2.0: What do we know about it?

The original Oni skin line featured a shorty, bucky, guardian, and phantom, so it remains to be found out which skins will be included this time. The one claw was also a special skin for the melee weapon. Vegod, a Valorant community member tweeted an in-work Oni project with a pink Oni Vandal in work. The designs are being worked upon, and fans are excited to find out more about this new weapon skin line currently in development.

The new trailer is also being developed for the same, and bringing back the Oni 2.0 skins for fan-favorite weapons will be a win-win situation for both Riot as well as the fans. This is added to the fact that Riot has been consistent in providing high-quality skins in regular intervals now, after a hiatus in between.

It appears as if Valorant is finally listening to its community, and giving the fans what they demand. If Oni was one of your favorites until now, make sure to check out this bundle once it comes out. And judging by the recently released skins, you won’t be disappointed.
